📝days 306-403: the frantic desert adventure (jordan, iraq, kurdistan, türkiye & georgia)
perhaps the most challenging part of my cycling journey: crossing 2 deserts in 45C/50C heat. physical, emotional and spiritual breakdown. and friendship.
📝 days 285-306: damascus (the first time)
i became absolutely enchanted by Damascus and the folks living in it. a truly magical city. i’ve never experienced anything like it. the moment i left i already missed it. here’s some writings on what made it so special.
📝 days 247-285: lebanon
turns out that lebanon is intense. for many reasons. i outline a few in here. the people taught me so much. i am deeply appreciative of the lebanese. like no others they showed kindness. thank you lebanese, wherever you are (many are not in lebanon but in Europe, Canada, USA, Australia, Brazil, etc).
📝 days 187-246: recovery, a visiting mother, and thriving at last.
finding joy alone, meeting up with my mom, working the olive trees in a vegan farm, nightmarish diarrhoea, music suggestions - it’s all in this blog post. may you like it, insha’allah.
📝 days 114-187: breathing border violence day in and day out
saw europe’s border from up close for around 2.5 months. all emotions were elevated - it was magical and haunting and everything in between. spent some time giving you an impression in this blog post.
📝 days 105-114: speeding to No Name Kitchen in Harmanli (Bulgaria)
the brief intermission between leaving the magical Lake Ohrid and arriving in No Name Kitchen in Harmanli. short, but sweet.
📝days 41-69: final shared days & starting the solo-adventure.
recapping my time between Bihac, Bosnia and Sarajevo. reflecting on memories, learning my moods, and starting the solo-adventure.
🌱✊ death & pancakes: No Name Kitchen at the border in Bosnia
I spent a few days working with No Name Kitchen, an organisation working directly at Europe's borders. They assist those trying to cross it with whatever they need. I spent a few days with them, and share my absurdist, almost-schizophrenic experience.
📝 days 11-37: vienna, friend group joys, campaign anxiety.
in this long stretch of days i visit vienna for a while, find my groove with best friend alina, deal with anxieties of online campaigning, visit an abandoned monument and share lots of pictures of my friend group.
👋🏡🎒day 1-10: goodbyes, campaign buzz & personal reflections
the first 10 days of cycling, recapped in words and photos. from the goodbyes, to the press attention, to struggling with energy levels. a personal look into how i experienced my departure.
my first media-appearance & practical goodbye-info
i’m making BIG media headlines (internal public transport company newspaper) and more info on my departure, saying goodbye and cycling along?!
